1/144 HG Slaughter Dagger Review

“I did not know what you wanted for Christmas… So I got you this here toybox” Raisha spoke quietly, embarrassed by his gift’s lack of quality.
However Musica’s reply was far from dissapointed.
“What a coincidence, I got you one as well!” Musica cheered.

Back again for tonight’s update.

Quite a gd day I must say. Had a Christmas Dinner like no other. My what a feast it was.  lolz.

Anyways, im not really gonna update much. Not like theres much to update anyway.

Tday is Christmas day itself! The Lord’s birthday. hahas. But you probably already know that ya? This obviously proving I have little to write about.

So, down to the main meat of the content, I shall be doing a kit review of the 1/144 HG Slaughter Dagger from the Gundam Seed Stargazer mini series. Original I just wanted to do the review for the Launcher Slaughter Dagger, but since we’re on the subject of it, i might as well cover the full thing.

Pride of the Alliance army.

At least they areant GN 'arse' thrusters.

As 1/144 HG i feel tat the Slaughter Dagger is a pretty well-versed model. Unlike the Strike Gundam, the Dagger has pretty gd articulation. Its legs are capable of doing the splitz. Arm articulation is pretty gd too. However the joints connecting the arm to the upper body are a tad fixed. Thus restricting certain movements.

Detail wise… Actually, because its mostly dark colored and black, there’s hardly a need to do any markings on it. Very nice colour combination and comes with a matching black Aile Striker pack which i feel would look good on the Strike Noir. Not as flashy as the Gunbarrel Dagger as well.

Rather puny stickers as well. The tiniest being the small triangle stickers that are meant to go on the legs and chest. The model also comes with decals to put on the unit and two clear yellow pieces for the beam saber blades.

Now then. Lets see, is it compatible: Launcher Striker.

The Alliance sure knew what they were doing when they made this guy.

Yup, combat effective.

Ya noe, even though Heavens Base is abt to be destroyed by three 1337hax ZAFT units and kill me, i'll still defend it with my Agni cannon anywho.

Taaaaaadaaaaaaa, yes it is! Expected actually. The Combination Unit is rather lose on it shoulder, but it’ll hold. The Agni cannon connects to the Dagger’s back pretty firmly. The Launcher Striker was taken from the 1/144 no grade Launcher Strike.

The next thing at hand is the 1/144 no grade Sword Strike. But you probably already noe the results. XD

Anyways, now comes the ‘glitches’ with the model. As said above, the arm-body joints are fixed at a certain angle. This mean that positioning the arms at certain angles are kinda restricted. With this in mind, that means the positioning the Agni cannon under the Dagger’s arms is rather hard. Much more getting the hand through the handle.

Suprisingly the second, and last, bug is that the beam sabers on the Aile Striker cannot fit into its hand. Nope. Not at all. The yellow blades fit snugly into the saber, but the saber just wun fit into the hand!!! Strangely..

But thats kinda minor, considering that most of the time you’ll be using the ones on its hips.

Overall I rate this unit a 4/5

I feel that the Slaughter Dagger is a pretty gd worthwhile model to get. Especially if you dun wan to be in the norm for getting an Aile Strike Gundam like everyone else. Hey! People love grunties.

Meanwhile, some pics that i forgot take from the before.

Other than that, today was quite an eventful day. Went out to visit the Josh and the others at their Church and later went out with my family to watch the movie Ip Man. Wonderful fight scenes. Unfortunetly im not here to do movie reviews as well so until next time, stay tuned for the 1/144 HG Saviour review!
Oh! And MERRY CHRISTMAS to everyone, frens family and all! =D

  1. I sort of expectied it with the Launcher Dagger sanpping on perfectly, but wow, is that whip straighter than a virgin boy, or what?

  2. Looking at the shoulder of the Slaughter Dagger, i wasnt even expecting the combination unit to fit at all, considering tat its design is somewhat different from the Strike. =P
And your so right abt the whip. XD
